WELCOMEDates: June 17-21, 2008
On behalf of the Board of Directors, it is my privilege to welcome you to the
67th Annual Midwest Charity Horse Show. Exhibitors, trainers, owners and
families, friends and horse enthusiasts annually converge on the Illinois State
Fairgrounds for a five-day show horse extravaganza.
Last year was a banner year for us. We are deeply honored and proud to have been
chosen as this year's UPHA Chapter 10 Honor Show of the Year.
We look forward to providing the same warm hospitality that has drawn many to
our show at our well attended nightly parties in the fabulously decorated Barn
25Q. We also look forward to renewing old friendships, catching up with
acquaintances, and making new friends. Of supreme importance, of course, is the
opportunity to see some of the finest competition in the country.
As you travel about Springfield, you will see that downtown Springfield has
undergone quite a transformation, highlighted by the completed Abraham Lincoln
Presidential Library and Museum.
Springfield's Lincoln sites also include Lincoln's Home, Lincoln's Tomb, and the
Old State Capitol where Lincoln practiced law and argued before the Supreme
Court. Take a few minutes out of your horse show schedule to visit these sites.
Downtown Springfield also has a lively night scene and plenty of boutiques for
"shoppers."
This show is a labor of love, and we are thrilled to welcome all of you and
especially the second and third generations of exhibitors, trainers and board
members to the 67th Annual Midwest Charity Horse Show.
